In June 2009 the Government launched 'Recipe
for Success' Scotland's National Food & Drink Policy. The
section supporting the growth of our food and drink industry
details one of the next steps in supporting enterprise is:
"Investigate the scope for national support & development of
local food forums and local food networks in order to support local
producers."
Scottish Enterprise is progressing early development work with
its partners to investigate a National approach for food forums
across Scotland. More information will be made available soon
on progress and expected outcomes
Through the existing regional Food Forum networks, Scotland Food
& Drink is forging valuable local business networks with food
and drink companies. The aim is to deliver targeted events in an
environment which stimulates discussion and networking amongst the
local industry peer groups.
A significant number of companies across Scotland regularly
benefit from food forum activities by:
- Regular attendance at Food & Drink Networking events
- Opportunities to network with other food and drink
companies
- Presentations from Food & Drink experts sharing their
industry knowledge & expertise.
- Engage with the wider food and drink sector to increase
collaboration and communication opportunities
- Find out more about Scotland Food and Drink, its activities and
the advantages of membership for Food & Drink companies.
