The Scottish Food and Drink Federation represents the interests of the food and drink manufacturing industry in Scotland.
Our job is to ensure the industry's voice is heard where it
matters, communicating on our members' behalf with legislators,
regulators and other opinion formers.
We represent our members' views at the highest levels within the
Scottish Government, Scottish Parliament and the Food Standards
Agency Scotland. SFDF also helps industry liaise with related
bodies such as the Scottish Consumer Council, the Scottish Retail
Consortium, the Scottish Enterprise Network as well as the
agricultural sector and academic and research institutes.
We ensure our members have a direct input to the development of
industry policy and can have their say on the wide range of issues
affecting the industry in Scotland via our Executive Committee,
which is made up of senior industry representatives, our Members'
Forum and our Suppliers' Forum.
A key focus of our work is increasing the competitiveness of the
industry in Scotland by improving the legal and socio-economic
environment in which our members operate.
We also ensure our members' views and concerns are understood in
the debates around sustainability and health and wellbeing.
In addition, SFDF works closely with others in the food chain to
ensure food safety and consumer confidence.
SFDF is a devolved division of the Food and Drink
Federation (FDF). SFDF keeps FDF members informed about
legislative and other developments in Scotland which may affect
their business interests. SFDF also ensures that the industry in
Scotland has a direct input, via FDF, to the development of
industry policy in the UK and EU contexts.
