Taking place during Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight, the trade show for local, regional and artisan food and drink producers will be the biggest yet with over 550 exhibitors and more than half are exhibiting for the first time.
For the second year running, Scotland Food & Drink is hosting a special pavilion. Themed ‘Scotland Land of Food & Drink’, the area is the second biggest at the event and will showcase some of the country’s wonderful natural larder and fantastic producers and products which helps stake its claim as one of the world’s great lands of food and drink.
Exhibitors include artisan cheese companies, premium fish producers, bakeries and breweries all looking to attract new buyers.
Throughout the event, top Scottish chefs will host cookery demonstrations in the Scotland Food & Drink pavilion. Stuart Hazell, a freelance chef who has cooked in some of Scotland’s best known AA rosette establishments, will be showcasing his talents on Sunday 5 September and Glasgow’s Jacqueline O’Donnell who runs the city’s successful The Sister’s Restaurant with her younger sibling, will be demonstrating on Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 September.
To help create stand-out, some of the brands will be holding master-classes at their stands to show how to make best use of the products.
Paul McLaughlin, chief executive of Scotland Food & Drink said: “Scotland produces an abundance of high quality, premium brands and products and the Speciality & Fine Foods Fair offers the opportunity to promote them. This year, Scotland Food & Drink has the second biggest area in the pavilion so we are expecting a real buzz surrounding the products being showcased.”
