Supplying Food & Drink to the Public Sector:
Essential information to help you demystify the process

Have you ever thought about supplying schools, hospitals or local councils but wondered how to go about it and what it would mean for your business?

In collaboration with SAOS and the C2 Project, Scotland Food & Drink held a free seminar in October that helped to demystify the whole subject of supplying food and drink to the public sector.

The public sector in Scotland spends around £130 million annually on food and drink and, contrary to misconceptions, it is possible for both large and very small companies to access this market and capitalise on opportunities that will help them grow.

The October seminar, Chaired by Robert B. Graham, Managing Director of Graham’s the Family Dairy, included the following presentations from top speakers:

  • NHS National Services Scotland, National Procurement – Loraine Hartley
  • Council Procurement Perspective & Opportunities, Tayside Contracts – Elaine Brown
  • Supplier’s Perspective, Stirfresh – Andrew Stirling
  • Market Size & Tendering Opportunities, Scotland Excel – Lesley Richard,
  • The SAOS Guide to Accessing the Procurement Market – George Noble
  • Becoming a Supplier to the London 2012 Olympics & Paralympic Games – Jillian Moffat, Scottish Enterprise

Don’t miss SAOS’ publication Public Sector Procurement Opportunities: A  Practical Guide to Supplying Food & Drink to the Public Sector in Scotland. This is essential reading for anyone interested in accessing new markets in this area.
