Taste Communications will be officially launched today (June 1) by former STV presenter Stephen Jardine and ex-BBC Reporting Scotland editor, Jim Duff.

The company will use broadcasting, publishing and social media to help Scottish restaurants, hotels and food and drink brands be the best they can be by taking their message of quality and distinction to the widest possible audience. It will also campaign on issues affecting the food and drink industry.

Peter Lederer was chairman of VisitScotland for nine years. Last night, he said: “I have spent 28 years in Scotland, am passionate about Scotland and its hospitality industry.

"I am excited at this stage of my career to work with the Taste Communications team to build something new.

“Scotland has great produce, and a great story to tell – we need to become better storytellers and communicators. I have seen Scotland’s reputation for great food and drink grow over almost 30 years – how much further can we go?”

Taste Communications director Stephen Jardine said: “We are delighted to be working with Peter Lederer who is quite simply one of the biggest names in the tourism and hospitality business. His wealth of experience and contacts will be a huge benefit to our clients but will also help our business development.”
