British Pie Awards Success for Scottish Butchers

Boghall Butchers of West Lothian has won several awards - including two Golds - in the 2011 British Pie Awards.

The Bathgate-based butcher won Gold for its Duck in Plum & Ginger Sauce Pie and Scotch Mutton Pie while it picked up Silver for its Vegetarian Haggis Pie and Apple & Sultana Pasty.

Boghall Butchers also won Bronze for its Steak & Kidney Pie and also its Smoked Salmon in Cream & White Wine Sauce.

Other Scottish winners included Fergusons of Airdrie, which won Gold for its Rhubarb Pie, and Murdoch Brothers Butchers of Forres, which won Silver for its Scotch Pie.

The Awards were held in Melton Mowbray and hosted by the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association.
