Scottish Water Brand Creates a Buzz with Patrick Thistle FC

Family-friendly water brand macb has unveiled a brand new, three-year sponsorship deal with Glasgow football club Partick Thistle FC, worth a substantial six-figure sum.

Heralding a new era for the Sangs-owned brand, macb chief executive, Kenny Webster, shook hands with club manager Jackie McNamara before introducing the team’s new mascot, Jaggy Macbee.

This is the first title sponsorship to be entered into by macb – a natural fruit-flavoured water range that sells over 10 million litres across Scotland per year. Macb is also the official water for nine SPL teams, including Hibs, Hearts, Dundee United and Aberdeen.

The announcement marks the beginning of macb’s busiest period yet, including a 'Kids Go Free' on-pack offer, a sampling drive and an integrated marketing campaign.

"Football often gets a bad rap but Partick Thistle shows the sport at its best," said Kenny Webster. "The club’s a great fit with what we believe in at macb – brilliant value, family-focused and good fun too.

"We’re proud to become part of the team and we’re looking forward to a great season ahead."

Jackie McNamara echoed Webster's comments: "I am delighted that the club secured macb water as our main sponsor. I think it’s a great brand and ties in perfectly with Thistle.

"Everybody at the club is already looking forward to next season – we have what we believe is the core of a great squad and once we get the boys back in from the close season it will be heads down and hard work.

"They’ll need a good few bottles of macb water with the pre-season training sessions I’ve prepared."

Next season, Patrick Thistle will not only have support from macb but, due to its trouble-free record and well-behaved fans, will also become a police-free ground, as well as continuing its commitment to welcoming children under 16 for free, hosting a dedicated family area and kids' zone.

Made from the freshest soft Scottish spring water, macb is available in a variety of formats and natural fruit flavours, including Apple, Peach, Strawberry and Kiwi, Mandarin, Pear and Cranberry and Raspberry.
