The Demonstration Day was a joint SRPBA/BDFPA event and was aimed at raising awareness of the prospects for deer farming in Scotland.

Speaking in the morning, Nigel Sampson of Holme Farmed Venison highlighted that the market is 50% under supplied from domestic production and there is huge potential to replace imports with a Scottish produced supply.

Delegates also visited Easter Lennieston Farm and met Jamie Fletcher who farms 120 hinds and youngstock on 50 acres of his farm alongside his other farming routines.  A further site visit was also made to Clathic House near Comrie, home of the Landales where Alan Sneddon introduced a new deer farming project.
