Scottish Sea Farms has pledged a three-year sponsorship deal to support Lairg Angling Club’s annual Shin Open fishing competition, with this year’s event being held on 23 July.

The sponsorship money will be used to provide trophies and prize money, as well as helping with annual running costs.
The club fully expects around 30 competitors from every corner of Scotland to take part on the day, and it promises to be a very competitive day’s fishing.
Lairg Angling Club was formed in 1960 and is based on the banks of Loch Shin, the largest freshwater loch in Sutherland at 17 miles long. Loch Shin offers outstanding fly fishing for trout from both the bank and boats.
Murray Munro, manager at Scottish Sea Farms, Loch Shin, said: "We work hard to protect the fishing environment on Loch Shin and were delighted to have been approached by the club to support this annual competition."
The Scottish Sea Farms £100 Note Trophy will be presented for the Best Catch of the Day along with a £100 note, while the Scottish Sea Farms Biggest Fish of the Day Trophy will be awarded along with a £50 note. There is also a consolation prize for the Poorest Catch or None Caught on the day.
Scottish Sea Farms was established in 1974 and currently has 380 employees. The main product farmed is Scottish Atlantic salmon and approximately 25,000-26,000 tonnes are produced per annum.
Sites include hatcheries, freshwater and marine and are located on the north and west coasts of Scotland, Orkney Isles and the Shetland Isles. Processing locations are located in South Shian, Argyll and Scalloway, Shetland.
Scottish Sea Farms is part of the Leroy and SalMar Group which accounts for 15% of the total global supply of farmed salmon.
