The first series of workshops will be held between September and November in a variety of locations, from the Borders to Inverness.
Workshops, which will be followed by a networking lunch, will demonstrate how businesses can use the guidance available from the Carbon Trust to help them develop their own strategy for energy efficient practices in the workplace.
An energy specialist will explain how free online energy management tools can be used to develop a Carbon Trust-approved carbon management plan.
Warren McIntyre of the Carbon Trust said: "Our carbon coaching workshops provide small to medium-sized enterprises with the confidence to embark on emissions-reduction projects.
"They have also been instrumental in educating businesses in Scotland about the business benefits of saving energy.
"We received a huge amount of interest and positive feedback from our 2010 workshops and the participants are already starting to see the business benefits of becoming more energy efficient."
William Twaddle, proprietor of the Tayside Hotel in Perthshire, benefited from attending a carbon coaching workshop which informed his energy efficiency plan, implemented in 2010.
Measures including switching to low-energy LED light bulbs, resetting the temperatures of the hotel’s freezers and a programme of staff engagement. He commented: "The advice we received from the Carbon Trust has been invaluable.
"Yes, we’re helping the planet, but at the end of the day the environmental decisions that we’ve made make good financial sense too.
"In addition, the work we have done on reducing carbon emissions at the Tayside Hotel has been the start of a journey which has led to the development of an exciting new environmental business."
