Launched earlier this summer, Hopetoun Farm Shop is anticipating steady demand for grouse, partridge, pheasant, rabbit, hare and venison over the coming months, with much of the produce being sourced from the Hopetoun Estate.

Butcher Derek said: "There is more interest than ever in seasonal produce and game, and grouse in particular is very popular.

"We have had many advance orders for grouse and anticipate a busy season."

The Glorious Twelfth is traditionally the start of the grouse season and most indications are that it could be a record one.
