Andrew Underwood has joined Macphie as sales and marketing director
The UK’s leading independent food ingredients manufacturer, Macphie of Glenbervie, has strengthened its Board with the appointment of Andrew Underwood as sales and marketing director.

Andrew brings 27 years of food industry experience with him, having held a number of senior roles, most recently with Authentic Foods. He has also worked at Brakes, Schwan’s Consumer Brands and Coca-Cola.
Manchester born and bred, Andrew will be dividing his time between the firm’s head-quarters in Glenbervie and Manchester, which is closer to Macphie’s core customer base.
Chief executive Alastair Macphie explained: "Andrew’s impressive track record in foodservice, food manufacturing and retail will be a great asset to the company.
"Andrew has responsibility for developing our sales, marketing and customer services teams and expanding our £41 million revenue.
"This is a crucial role at the heart of Macphie’s future growth strategy, and I am confident he will rise to the challenge."

Macphie manufactures a range of high-quality food ingredients for the bakery, foodservice and food manufacturing sectors for the UK and abroad.
Headquartered in Glenbervie near Aberdeen, the company produces a wide variety of high-quality cake and bread mixes; glazes; cream alternatives; icings; desserts; fruit coulis; and sauces for the bakery, foodservice and food manufacturing sectors.
The company installed Scotland’s first industrial biomass plant in 2008, which uses wood chips to power its manufacturing site saving 8200 tonnes of CO2 per year.
In June 2010, Macphie launched DeviliShh, its first retail brand of ready-to-make desserts.
