Acclaimed author Ian Rankin and esteemed food writer Sue Lawrence will be joining a host of the Scottish Cafe & Restaurant’s finest suppliers for a free open afternoon this weekend celebrating the grand finale to Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight.

The Edinburgh restaurant, located in the National Galleries of Scotland, buys its produce direct from more than 70 Scottish producers and will showcase a selection of their wares, giving the public an occasion to spend a tasty afternoon sampling.
Ian Rankin will launch the Scottish Cafe & Restaurant’s very own house ale, Reverend’s Reward, brewed by Caledonian Brewery which also produces Rebus20 in recognition of his famous crime-busting character.
Meanwhile, Sue Lawrence will be sharing her Scottish food passions and signing her latest book.

Scottish Cafe & Restaurant owner, Carina Contini, explained: "Our first supplier open day is an opportunity for everyone to celebrate and share in the wealth of our great Scottish larder.
"We are proud of the time and commitment we take to sourcing and selecting our producers to ensure our customers receive the best quality when dining in the restaurant.
"It’s now time to open our little black book to the wider public to give them this unique opportunity to meet our friends and sample their produce for themselves."
Those attending can then visit the Elizabeth Blackadder Exhibition in the Scottish National Gallery and enjoy one of Scotland’s truly great artists.
