QMS chairman Jim McLaren said the award was very well deserved and acknowledged the outstanding performance of the company’s Bridge of Allan-based Scotbeef division and Vivers Scotlamb, based in Dornock.

The company recorded a remarkable 40% increase in export sales of Scotch Beef and Scotch Lamb last year.

Mr McLaren said: "The company has invested heavily in its business and the Queen’s Award is a great tribute to the Galloway family, their staff and the farmers who supply them with the top-quality livestock which results in the consistent delivery of top-quality Scotch Beef and Scotch Lamb to customers in the UK and overseas."

The award was announced in April.
