Now in its 20th year, the IIP standard is recognised across business sectors as a guide to an organisation's commitment to support its staff.
The five red star resort was assessed across a range of criteria including its strategy for improving the performance of the resort.
General manager Daniel Pereira is "thrilled" with the award: "Fewer than 1% of businesses assessed achieve the Silver standard – so we are delighted to have been recognised for our dedication to delivering excellent learning and development for our team."
He explained: "Across the whole resort - including the hotel with its 3AA Rosette Road Hole Restaurant, our exceptional Kohler Waters Spa, recently recognised with the maximum 'five bubbles' from The Good Sa Guide, the award-winning Duke's Golf Club and not forgetting the world's favourite 19th hole, the Jigger Inn – we actively promote equality of opportunity and recognition of contribution.
"It is all about empowerment – ensuring our team can take ownership and responsibility by being involved in decision–making – and bringing together the training and development processes to result in continuous assessment and improvement."
Daniel Pereira joined Kohler Co. as GM of the Old Course Hotel in November 2010. With over 18 years' experience within the hotel, travel and tourism sector, he has an impressive background in the five-star hotel industry having previously held the role of GM of Scottish properties for The Eton Collection.
