Wishart's restaurant is located with the luxury Cameron House on the banks of Loch Lomond. His award last week marks the first time a Scottish chef has held a Michelin star for two separate properties.

He said: "The team at the Cameron House restaurant is very deserving of this recognition and my thanks go to head vhef Stewart Boyles as well as Miguel Rivero, who was recently promoted to restaurant manager and has been at the restaurant since it opened in 2008.

"Stewart has consistently delivered excellent food. His skill and creativity, along with Miguel’s passion for exceptional service, have gone a long way to driving the restaurant forward.

"I think this is great for the restaurant industry in Scotland, raising the reputation of Scottish cuisine to include the west."

Head chef Stewart Boyles said: "We are all very, very excited to have received this recognition. It is testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole team.

"The staff here are very deserving of the award and we look forward to maintaining the Michelin star standard for many years to come."

The influential recognition comes exactly 10 years after Restaurant Martin Wishart in Leith received Edinburgh ’s first Michelin star.

John Keating, general manager at Cameron House, commented: "This is a very well-deserved award for Martin and the team.

"The Michelin Guide is widely recognised as the ultimate accolade in the restaurant industry with the coveted stars awarded only to the crème de la crème. It is an honour to work with such talent, enabling us to bring the ultimate in first-class cuisine to our guests.

"The announcement adds another level of prestige to the luxury offering of the Cameron House resort and cements its position among the top luxury hotels in Scotland, the UK and the world.

"The combination of top-quality food, great service and a stunning location really sets Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond apart."

Cameron House, on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, just 30 minutes from Glasgow, offers one of the best luxury resort experiences in the UK. Following its refurbishment in 2008, it  has won a number of highly respected industry awards, including the 2010 Cateys Hotel of the Year and three awards at the 2011 Scottish Hotel of the Year Awards.
