As previously reported by Scotland Food & Drink, the main aims of the conference are:
- To showcase local food producers
- To highlight the problems faced by food producers and small food retailers
- To share solutions that those in business have already discovered or created
- To help the further education sector to engage with Scotland’s food and drink industry
- To provide a unique networking opportunity for those passionate about food and drink in Scotland
- To engage with Business, SDS, Scotland Food & Drink and other key industry bodies
Opening the conference is James Withers, the newly appointed chief executive of Scotland Food & Drink.
Other speakers include Jane Stewart (Anster Cheese), Fiona and Nikki Pollock (Ardross Farm Shop), Alex and Jane Nicol (Spencerfield Spirit Company) and Michael Clark a former hospitality student from Elmwood College. The event will be closed by Toby Anstruther, chair of the Fife Food Network.
Workshop discussions will also focus on a range of topics on the needs of the industry.
