This year’s winner of AgriScot’s ‘Scottish Dairy Farm of the Year’ competition are First Milk members The Ralston Family from East Drumlemble, Campbeltown. It is the first time that the prestigious award has been awarded to an Ayrshire herd.

The family are all involved in the business milking 200 Ayrshires whose milk supplies the Campbeltown Creamery for Mull of Kintyre Cheddar.
Alongside the Ralston’s, First Milk members Alistair and Sheila Nelson of Redcroft Castle Douglas, and University of Edinburgh, Langhill, Roslin also made the final four.
First Milk Vice-Chairman Tom Campbell comments, “This is a fantastic achievement for the Ralston family winning an incredibly prestigious award in our industry. To have the Ralston family and also two further First Milk members in the final makes us as company very proud indeed and is testament to our members hard work, dedication and innovation, which is recognised through awards such as this”.
