This HIT Scotland Christmas party will take place in the ballroom of Grand Central Hotel on December 1st.

All money raised throughout the event will go towards supporting the HIT Scotland Emerging Talent scholarship programme to raise aspirations and develop talent within the industry.

Following a four-course dinner and a show by a professional dance team, the Gangsters of Groove will play floor-fillers from across the ages late into the evening.

BBC presenter Rob Matheson is the Master of Ceremonies for the evening and a charity auction will take place.

Previous scholars have gone behind the scenes of Michelin-starred kitchens, been awarded places at Ivy League Cornell University and at Europe's top hospitality school. Other placements include the Disney Institute in Florida and six-star resorts in Dubai.

Stephen Murphy of Brakes Fresh Ideas, chair of the organising committee, said: "The Christmas party is one of the highlights in the hospitality industry’s social calendar. It is always an excellent evening and a welcome break for all before the start of the busy festive period."

The 2011 Christmas party is supported by Gleneagles Hotel, Bibendum the wine merchant, McPhee Family Bakers, City of Glasgow College, Black Bottle Whisky, Blue Parrot linen, Marvelus Audo/Visual, Flawless Images and As well as by the Grand Central Hotel.

As well as fundraising through events like the industry dinner, HIT Scotland is supported by big names in the industry including I am Clothing Solutions, Highland Spring, Robert Wiseman Dairies, Caterer.com, Enterprise Rent a Car, Phillips and Brakes Fresh Ideas.

Tickets cost £75 and are available from HIT Scotland.
