As previously reported by Scotland Food & Drink, Browns is one of several food and drink companies shortlisted.

The judges, led by awards chairman Duncan Bannantyne, have shortlisted Browns for its work on its newest product ranges, Take me Away and Scotti.

Managing director Howard Crook commented: "We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for this category and to be part of these awards. We put in a lot of hard work and effort and are extremely happy with the final products, so for them to be recognised by the judging panel is a great achievement for all involved."

Take me Away is a range of premium frozen, pre-cooked, microwavable snacking foods which take a matter of minutes to prepare. The range includes: Hot and Spicy Chicken Wings; Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings; Hickory Ribs; and Spicy Boneless Ribs.

The Scotti range currently comprises two products. Scotti egg, which is a sliced Scotch egg, contains slices of crumb-coated egg-filled sausage meat, giving a new dynamic and versatility to the Scotch egg, particularly opening it up as a sandwich filling option rather than just a accompaniment.

Scotti Chick is inspired by the popular Scottish dish, Chicken Barmoral and is a Scottish alternative to chicken and stuffing products featuring sliced chicken with a haggis centre.

The winners of the Scottish Business Awards will be announced at a ceremony at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on 23rd February 2012.
