Famous for cow-print branding on its fresh milk products and trucks, Robert Wiseman Dairies has also found that its distinctive wellies are much-sought after by families and festival-goers.
Now the East Kilbride-based company is offering people in Glasgow the opportunity to own a pair of Wiseman wellies and join Scotland’s first-ever Wiseman Welly Walk on Sunday, 4 March, in Bellahouston Park.
Anyone who is willing to walk the 5km course can take part - even the family dog!
All entry fees and sponsorship raised will go straight to the Glasgow city centre hospice and participants can opt for Wiseman wellies as part of the £15 entry fee for adults or £10 for children.
Putting their best foot forward to launch the Wiseman Welly Walk was the Cannon family of Queen’s Park, Glasgow.
Mum-of-six Clare is a keen hospice supporter and is pleased that her children can all take part in an event as a family to support the hospice which has done so much for them.
Clare said: "The Hospice is a cause which is close to the hearts of all the family after they supported my mum and the rest of the family through her illness and subsequently since she passed away.
"The Wiseman Welly Walk is a great idea to get the whole family involved in raising funds for this wonderful cause and its perfect for all six Cannon children, even the youngest who will be taking part being pushed around in her pram!"
It takes £4.2 million a year to run the hospice, and £2.8 million of this must come through donations and events such as the Wiseman Welly Walk.
One in two people across Britain have had a family member or friend benefit from hospice care.
Paul McMullan, manager of the Wiseman site in Cambuslang, added: "Through our charity partnership with Help the Hospices we work with The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice to develop fundraising ideas, the Wiseman Welly Walk being one of them.
"It’s set to be a great day out for the whole family and will raise much-needed funds for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice so they can continue their valuable work in the community."
