John fought off competition from north and south of the Border to win the title for the first time.
The first runner-up prize went to Edenmill Farm Shop from Blanefield, near Stirling, while the second runner-up was Borders baker Alex Dalgetty and Sons, Galashiels.
The World Scotch Pie Championships are held annually in Dunfermline as part of a wide range of different awards.
Some 86 businesses from as far afield as Bolton and Invergordon entered products for evaluation at the judging held at Carnegie College in November. A panel of 20 industry experts and interested foodies tackled the massive task of munching their way through over 400 savoury products.
Prizes were also awarded for the Best Bridies, Best Sausage Rolls, Best Hot Savoury Products, Best Cold Savoury Products, Best Vegetarian Savoury, Best Steak Pies and Best Fish Pies.
The MacLean Cup for the Best Overall Savoury Product went to Boghall Butchers for its Medley of Seafood Pie.
