The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant at the Scottish National Gallery will be the perfect setting for the Burns event, with its emphasis on tradition with a contemporary twist – both in the restaurant’s stylish interior and its renowned Scottish menu.

Owners Carina and Victor Contini will be pulling out all the stops to celebrate the birth of the Scottish bard with live music, dancing and, of course, a traditional Burns Night supper of Cullen Skink, Findlay’s of Portobello Haggis with East Lothian organic neeps and tatties accompanied with a complimentary dram, followed by delicious cranachan with Scottish raspberries and Graham’s The Family Dairy double cream.

The restaurant is situated at the Scottish National Gallery within Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, and the ANTA-designed interior also features original oil paintings by celebrated Scottish artists such as Sir William Gillies and Anne Redpath – fitting surroundings in which to celebrate one of Scotland’s most famous historical figures.

The Burns Night Ceilidh on Saturday, 28 January will run from 7pm until 1am and guests will be able to sample the best of Scottish produce, as the Continis take great pride in sourcing 90% of the restaurant’singredients from over 50 Scottish artisan suppliers.

The Continis also run the popular Centotre Italian restaurant in Edinburgh’s George Street and they have pledged to use their Italian understanding of healthy food, with an Italian attitude to suppliers, seasons and quality, to create an identity for the Scottish Cafe & Restaurant that comes from their Scottish roots.
