Hopetoun Farm Shop

The multi-award winning farm shop beat off stiff competition to win the prestigious Scottish Local Food Champion award in recognition of its dedication to flying the flag for the finest, locally sourced Scottish food.

Hopetoun Farm Shop will now go on to represent Scotland in The Countryside Alliance national awards to be held at the House of Lords in London on 13th March.  Known as the “Rural Oscars”, Scotland hasn’t featured amongst the winners since 2009.

With a lot at stake, Hopetoun is hoping that the Farm Shop’s finest meat, poultry and game sourced from the Hopetoun Estate, coupled with almost two hundred and fifty award winning produce from other local suppliers, will result in an ‘Oscar’ for Scotland this year.

Commenting on the award, Lord Hopetoun said: “With generations of expertise rearing the finest quality meat, game and poultry, the creation of a Farm Shop was a natural progression.  We are thrilled that customers are enjoying what we have created – food is a particular passion of mine and being able to choose other Scottish produce to place on the Farm Shop shelves has been very rewarding.

There to collect the award was Hopetoun Farm Shop’s master butcher Derek Mackintosh from Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism, Fergus Ewing MSP.
