All Things Local - Master Chef Opens First All Scottish Pop Up

Scottish, passionate and a true MasterChef, these are just some of the words used to describe the young, but culinary talented, Jamie Scott who won the BBC MasterChef: The Professionals in 2014.

Previously Head Chef of Rocca Bar & Grill, St. Andrews, Jamie has spread his wings of late, touring Scotland’s many food festivals. From the Edinburgh Foodies Festival and the Elgin Food Festival, to Jamie’s local haunt, The Arbroath Sea Festival, he always leaves the crowds hungry for more.

Passionate for world-class Scottish larder, Jamie, with his wife Kelly, announced on Thursday 20th August that the couples’ first Pop Up Restaurant would open Thursday 17th to Saturday 19th September at Smithies, Arbroath.

Within 12 hours, the three day exclusive Pop Up was completely sold out.

Winner of BBC MasterChef: Professionals and Chef, Jamie Scott said:

“Opening a Pop Up has always been on the cards for me and Kelly. We just loved the idea of touring Scotland with multiple pop up restaurants.

"We’ll be running a 6 course tasting menu, which will include Veloute of Arbroath Smokie, which made up one of my winning dishes on Master Chef.”

Jamie Scott’s Wife, Kelly Scott, said:

“We just can’t believe the overwhelming response we’ve had and selling out in 12 hours was just incredible!

"Jamie’s got some real treats up his sleeve for the tasting menu. We don’t want to give away too much of the surprise, but we are working locally with suppliers right on our doorstep to make good of the amazing Scottish produce available right here in Arbroath.”

Guests will be treated to feature stories on each dish which will be accompanied by Jamie’s charismatic presentation.

The Scott’s plan on touring Scotland once again, opening more Pop Ups in Dundee, Perth and Glasgow with dates to follow soon.
