Bon Accord are back again.

The growing company have reformatted their tonic water size for on-trade and consumers. The initial run of 200ml bottles will see Bon Accord make enough tonic water for 30,000 G&T’s.

Karen and Nathan have been encouraged by leading members of Scotland’s drinks industry to launch a smaller version of their tonic water.  Working in collaboration with some of Scotland’s top gin bars, Bon Accord have designed a tonic water that will accompany the vast array of Scottish gins on the market.

Made with natural quinine, Bon Accord’s tonic water offers a subtle and balanced flavour that allows the botanicals of Scottish gins to sing; perfect for tasting the gin and not just the tonic water.

Working with key on-trade distributors, such as Vino in Edinburgh, Huffmans in Dundee and Hot Sauce in Glasgow, the bar-friendly sized tonic water is available on-trade across Edinburgh and the Lothians, Glasgow, Tayside and the North East.

The soft drink company relaunched in 2016 after spotting a gap in the market for a range made from natural sweeteners and no artificial flavours. Karen and Nathan worked with the University of Abertay to devise recipes for a sparkling Rhubarb and a Cloudy Lemonade to accompany their tonic water.

2017 is set to be an exciting year for Bon Accord as they launch their smaller 200ml tonic water and release a new Ginger Beer in March.

Bon Accord Director Nathan Burrough, believes the smaller format is the way forward for the business.

“The gin market is booming in Scotland and working in collaboration with some of Scotland’s top gin bars, we are now ready to release our new tonic water. We have listened to industry leaders and reformatted our tonic water to suit the on-trade market.  It was important for us to work closely with those who have real insight into the industry.

It made perfect business sense for us to create a smaller size bottle for a single serve gin & tonic. As a Scottish business, we are eager to support Scottish gin distillers with a tonic water that showcases the amazing Scottish gins on the market.

James Sutherland, owner of Edinburgh gin bar, 56 North said:

“As Scotland’s original gin bar we have been working with Bon Accord to support the evolution of their tonic water.  The new 200ml format is ideal for on-trade and customers are familiar with this size of tonic water when they order a gin and tonic.

As a growing soft drinks business in Scotland, it is great to see a new tonic water on the market which has been developed specifically to accompany Scottish gins.”
