Ayrshire Business Awards 2018 – Finalists Announced

The shortlist for the Ayrshire Business Awards 2018 has been unveiled, with 42 companies making the cut across 12 categories including Food & Drink.

The nominees showcase the best of business in Ayrshire, reflecting the breadth and depth of business successes in the region.  

The Finalists in the Ayrshire Food & Drink Award sponsored by East Ayrshire Council are as follows:

Bhaile Craft Bakery  

Artisan Bakery and Coffee shops in the heart of Ayr, featuring freshly made, handcrafted sourdough and yeasted bread, bakes, sweet and savoury treats, Signature Olfactory coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Sit in and Take Away available.

Bhaile recently opened their second shop in Troon where they hope to capitalise


Home Cook School

Home Cook School offers tailor-made cooking tuition. Lindsay, the tutor, delivers one-to-one sessions, group lessons and community classes as well as cooking demonstrations.

In addition to cooking classes, Home Cook School offers a comprehensive catering service. From canapés, to buffets, afternoon tea or elegant sit down meals, you will find a range of tasty options to satisfy your guests!


The Coo Shed

The Coo Shed was opened in April 2017 as an ‘add-on’ to the already successful and well established plant nursery, Corton Plants.

Set in the rural Ayrshire countryside on South Corton Farm, the Coo Shed has proven to be a very popular destination for many.

With its warm and inviting interior, it is the ideal place for people to come and meet up with friends and family and enjoy our delicious home-made food and mouth-watering cakes.


Weston Tavern & Restaurant

Host John Cairns and the team, welcome regular patrons and new visitors to relax in the Weston’s genuine rustic interior, with its dark stone floor and thick, warm walls, wood features, soft furnishings and a heart-warming, wood-burning fire.

In the restaurant out rustic theme continues, with cosy seating and beautifully appointed tables offering a truly relaxing and enjoyable dining experience, whatever the occasion, with children always welcome.

The winners will all be announced at the Business Awards Dinner taking place at Ayr Race Course on Friday 12th October. It promises to be a night not to be missed and we are delighted to announce that it will be hosted by Elaine C Smith. The dinner is a great networking opportunity and everyone is welcome to attend.
