Industry 4.0 Learning Journey to Catalonia

Industry leadership

Catalonia is home to a powerful manufacturing and ICT sector. Globally competitive, highly productive and innovative, it is laying the foundations to become a world-leading Industry 4.0 eco-system.

Scotland’s manufacturing sector is in a period of significant evolution and companies exist in an environment of rapid technological change and increased competition. Businesses across the manufacturing supply chain must increase the value they generate and produce highly differentiated products and related services that can sustain healthy margins. And as the cost of technology falls and enters the mainstream, businesses need to think strategically about how to leverage them effectively.

Why attend?
This Industry 4.0 Learning Journey will provide business leaders with a unique, first-hand insight into how manufacturers in Catalonia are leading the way and benefiting from adopting digital technologies.
The programme has been designed to provide an ‘under the skin’ insight through structured Go Look See site visits to three of Catalonia’s leading high value, high tech equipment manufacturers, who have all developed Industry 4.0 Roadmaps. Site tours and facilitated discussions will allow the following key areas to be explored:

  • Integrating Industry 4.0 and manufacturing strategy
  • Transitioning from a mechanical to digital culture
  • Connecting manufacturing processes, machines, systems and people
  • Using data to provide insight, prediction and make autonomous decisions
  • Developing digital value for customers
  • Live demos of technology being used to augment the workplace

Also included is VIP entry to the IOT Solutions World Congress which will host over 16,000 delegates from 120 countries, 340 exhibitors and 400 speakers. This first class global Industry 4.0 event is not to be missed.

The packed programme will help you develop a deeper understanding of what is possible through emerging technologies, automation, data and people. You will return with the confidence to create your own digital transformation strategy and Industry 4.0 road-map to connect your products, people, plant and supply chains together to improve your own competitiveness and bottom line.

If you believe that you and your business will benefit from this learning journey, please complete the application form and return by email to no later than Monday 16th September. Places will be confirmed by Wednesday 18th September.

To make sure of the highest quality learning experience for all participants we can only accept applications from senior decision makers from manufacturing businesses with the ambition to grow, change and develop. Your company should be engaged with or willing to engage with SE/HIE and SMAS to ensure all the learning translates into an ongoing road map and action plan. Two places per company are available.
