A noticeable trend which has been emerging within the food and drinks markets is consuming foods which claim to improve brain functionality and body performance. Increasingly, an array of new products are being introduced to the market, which present improved cognitive-functioning and physical-enhancing capabilities. These products come under umbrella terms such as ‘nutraceuticals’, ‘functional foods’, or sub-terms like ‘nootropics’, whilst also applying crossovers into other markets such as yoghurts, energy drinks and water.
