The East Neuk of Fife’s innovative food and drink hub Bowhouse will be hosting the Bowhouse Link Open Collection Day on Saturday 8th of August. During lockdown the Bowhouse Link was formed by the Bowhouse team, as a weekly online “alternative” market on the Open Food Network to connect people with local food and drink producers based both at Bowhouse and across the region.

Customers will be able to pre-order from Monday 3rd of August using the Bowhouse Link website, then have priority access to collect their food and drink between 9am - 11 am. A time slot will be emailed beforehand to have plenty of time to collect ordered goods and browse for any additions. Between 12 - 4 pm Bowhouse will then welcome in visitors to browse and purchase from the producers. But once it is gone, it’s gone!

The range of products include:

Organic beef, lamb, venison and pork from Butchery at Bowhouse, wholemeal organic flours from Scotland the Bread, organic vegetables and salads from East Neuk Market Garden, rums, ciders, beers and natural wines from Futtle Organic Brewery, game meats from Woodmill Game, cheeses from the neighbouring St Andrews Farmhouse Cheese Company,  brownies from Artisana, kombucha drinks from Bad Gal Boocha, non-alcoholic spirits from Feragaia and freshly ground coffee from Unorthodox Roasters of Kinross.

Throughout the day, Futtle Organic bottle shop will be open as well as street food available from James Ferguson of the Kinneuchar Inn and Flahute coffee van in the Front Courtyard. For added precaution and ease of use, there will be ample spaced parking, plenty of outdoor seating, contactless payment only and one-way system for access to The Butchery and Scotland the Bread mill.

Rosie Jack, Market Manager, said:

"We have been delighted by the support for our Bowhouse Link virtual market, which will continue to provide a pre-order and delivery service. We really feel like a family at Bowhouse, it’s home to a number of producers such as Scotland the Bread, Futtle Organic Brewery, The Butchery at Bowhouse and the East Neuk Market Garden who share resources as well as a hosting space for the market weekends. It gives us great pleasure to be able to welcome a Collection Day as a chance to experience Bowhouse in person and explore the amazing range of food and drink available from Fife.”

Sophie Cumber, Butchery at Bowhouse said:

“Having moved from London to open the new Butchery in February and opening on the weekend of Lockdown, as you can imagine, a meat chill full of fantastic locally produced organic meat and no market to sell to – without Bowhouse Link, my business would never have survived the first few months. The feedback from customers and repeat sales has really boosted my confidence and assured me that Fife has a real appetite for a business like mine.”
