Scottish cold pressed rapeseed oil producers Mackintosh of Glendaveny are celebrating after launching their first television advert campaign, in the run up to Christmas.
The campaign is now running on STV as planned to reach the nation’s televisions until 28th December.
Featuring Aberdeenshire’s Mackintosh family, the advert shows Christmas day at the Mackintosh household, with the oils taking centre stage. The family use their cold pressed rapeseed oil to make crispy golden roast potatoes, a plant-based and healthier alternative to fats traditionally used at Christmas time such as goose or duck fat.
The advert highlights the key benefits of using cold pressed rapeseed oil that can contribute towards good health including high amounts of plant-based Omega 3, that can help maintain healthy cholesterol levels and a great source of vitamin E.
This news comes as Mackintosh of Glendaveny celebrates its tenth anniversary and the expansion of its partnership with Co-op stores with Mackintosh cold pressed rapeseed oil landing in a further 180 stores this week. Mackintosh of Glendaveny Scottish cold pressed rapeseed oil is now stocked in over 300 Co-op stores across Scotland.
Mackintosh of Glendaveny is located between the town of Peterhead and Longside village in Aberdeenshire and was established by Gregor Mackintosh in 2009. Its award-winning range of products can be found in most leading supermarkets including Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys and selected Morrisons stores and is exported across the world.
Gregor Mackintosh said:
“We’re very excited to be launching our first television campaign just in time for Christmas. 2019 has been a very exciting year for us as we celebrate our tenth anniversary, the development of our new production site and continued growth in sales and stockists. Our latest development with the Co-op is a great step forward and an endorsement to the fantastic team we now have within the business. For the television campaign, we wanted to share a glimpse into the Mackintosh Christmas dinner. Our Scottish cold pressed rapeseed oil plays a huge part in our Christmas day, featuring across most dishes from the turkey, to dressing the sprouts and of course the beautifully crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside roasties. Our rapeseed oil has a very high smoke point which helps to achieve the perfectly crisp exterior, whilst the colour makes them beautifully golden. Rapeseed oil is the perfect alternative to traditional fats used on Christmas day such as goose or duck fat and has multiple health benefits.”
Mackintosh of Glendaveny is a member of The Scottish Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil Group which promotes a number of rapeseed oil producers from across Scotland. Together they are spreading the message as to why rapeseed oil should be in every kitchen across the UK.
