Kingsbarns Whisky Distillery and Visitor Centre has opened its doors on 15 July, in line with the latest guidance from the Scottish Government.
The distillery and visitor centre opened its doors at 10am on Wednesday, 15 July, allowing for visitors to enjoy the shop and café - with limited tours and tastings available from 1 August. To celebrate the re-opening of the distillery, a limited-edition Family Reserve, which has sold out worldwide, will be exclusively available to purchase at the distillery.
Kingsbarns Family Reserve 2020 (ABV 59.2%) is the first annual high strength bottlings of Kingsbarns’ lowland single malt Scotch whisky. Using the same recipe as the flagship Dream to Dram, the Family Reserve has been bottled at a higher strength and matured for several months in marrying casks to intensity the flavours and aromas. The Family Reserve has sold out worldwide but there will be a limited number of bottles available for visitors to buy at the distillery ahead of its official release on Saturday, 1 August.
William Wemyss, Founder and Managing Director of Darnley’s Gin and Kingsbarns Distillery, said:
“It has been a really challenging time for everyone, and we are hugely grateful to the key workers that have done so much over the past few months. At Kingsbarns we’ve been working hard to make sure our reopening is as safe as possible. Family and community spirit have always been at the very heart of our business, and now more than ever, we aim to do all we can to successfully re-open the distillery and keep our community safe.
“We ask that visitors be patient with us as the way we shop is going to be different for a while, and visits might take longer than usual. We can’t wait to open our doors and to welcome back our customers.”
