An exciting new food and drink event – “Taster of Inverness” is currently looking for local producers, particularly those in the catering industry to get in touch to take part.

The event created by Visit Inverness Loch Ness, will take place on 2nd November at Drumossie Hotel between 10am- 3pm and will be open to both businesses and the public to learn more about local food and drink, and the future of food tourism in the region. You will hear from four inspirational speakers on why food tourism is important for economic growth and why Inverness and Loch Ness is the perfect place as a foodie destination. The speakers include Masterchef finalist, Sarah Rankin, food author, Ghillie Basan, Scotland Food and Drink regional Manager, Fiona Richmond and local food and drink creators, Kelly and Adam known as ‘haimandawa’.  In addition, local producers can showcase their business or produce at the event to celebrate and promote high-quality produce that both locals and visitors can experience.

Visit Inverness Loch Ness, working in partnership with Drumossie Hotel, Highland Council, Highland News Media and Scotland Food and Drink, will bring creative writers and social media specialists from all over the UK together. They will enjoy what the food and drink scene of both Inverness and Loch Ness has to offer and share their experiences through social media. Visit Inverness Loch Ness hopes this will be the start of many conversations as to why more visitors should visit the area purely on its food and drink offering and aims to gather plenty of evidence that this is the case.

To celebrate the event, Visit Inverness Loch Ness have also released a brand new local food and drink video highlighting that if people are curious of the food and drink available, they will be extremely delighted of what they might find. It highlights that our local produce, from farm to fork, stays within the Highlands and our restaurants are some of the finest in the world. The video concludes “From our wild mountains, fields and Lochs, come and discover our local larder”.

Tickets to the Taster of Inverness event will go on sale at the end of September and will be open to everyone.
